One of the best ways on how to cure the problem is through rest.  Resting your voice and body enables total recuperation which then speeds up regaining your voice.  Avoid straining your vocal cords any longer by talking or whispering.

Drinking plenty of water generally helps in getting rid of the problem.  In addition, other liquids should also be drunk such as warm beverages. Ginger tea mixed with honey is great in fighting off bacteria causing the condition. Licorice root or even lemon mixed with a little apple cider vinegar is another traditional medicine for laryngitis.

Inhalation of steam for 15-20 minutes every 2-3 hours is beneficial in providing soothing relief.  A few drops of eucalyptus oil may be dropped for a more helpful effect.

Moisture-laden atmosphere should also be provided by keeping a humidifier in he room.  Irritants such as dust and cigarette smoking should be eliminated to prevent further inflammation of the vocal cords.

Finally, it is also important to seek medical treatment for the underlying medical condition to further eliminate other symptoms, too.  With the home remedies for raspy voice given above, you can definitely sing at the top of you lungs.
