This condition is caused by the food intake and acid in the stomach. There are certain things to be avoided when you are suffering from GERD.
How to Treat Heartburn Naturally
- Heartburn is triggered by the food and fluid intake. Avoid spicy food items and caffeinated drinks such as juices and coffee, stay away from drinking soda as well.
- Refrain from going to bed with a full stomach and without eating anything for dinner. When the stomach is empty the more that acid is produced causing you to suffer. Eat small meals but it must be frequent. Don’t overeat. Give time for your meals, you have to follow certain schedule. You can have 5 small meals instead of 3 big meals. When eating, do not be in a hurry, take your time.
- If you have been smoking for all your life, try to quit smoking. Smoking will make you feel worse.
- Alcohol has high acid content. Avoid drinking alcohol. Never drink beer. For it doubles the acid in your stomach making you to feel the worst.
- Stay away from high fat meals such as those that are served on fast foods for they stay longer in the stomach fro they secret more acid to digest them. They are not easily digested so avoid eating at those food chains.
- Drink a lot of water before, during and after exercise. This will keep you hydrated while exercise. And remember, people may think milk is good but based on findings, milk forms into acid and that triggers heartburn. Drink sterilized milk instead.
Most people do purchase over the counter good for hyperacidity to stay away from heartburn. But through good eating habits, you will be able to prevent and manage hyperacidity.
