Usually, medicated shampoos made especially for dandruff are widely available as treatment for the condition. The products usually contain ketoconazole, salicylic acid, zinc, etc and are suggested for use regularly. The shampoo should be rubbed gently on the scalp. Allow it to sit for atleast 5 minutes and ensure that you rinse off thoroughly.

Topical corticosteroids are widely suggested, too. However, there are reports that it can even aggravate the problem and that rebound incidents are noted thus they are discouraged. But you can also talk with your doctor about the use of effective steroid creams.

Behavioral modification is extremely advised to a person suffering from this type of eczema. For instance, a change in diet is suggested. Opt for high fiber food and limit intake of dairy products which may worsen the occurrence of fungal infection.  Vitamin E rich foods are a big plus as well.

You should also change the brand of your shampoo. Observe good hair hygiene and avoid using combs from someone who has it. Natural remedies such as tea tree oil, apple cider vinegar, and mineral oil are also recommended to promote healing and relieve its symptoms.
